About the Piece

The circle is much more than just an empty shape for Mohanti. It is a way of journeying to his village in Orissa in India; it is a means meditation and mantra-like focus; it is a time machine taking him to his earliest memories of art where he (under instruction as a child) drew three divine circles in the sand: the Trimurti - Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
