About the Piece

Many of Elsner's small works are images of everyday people going about their business, often in the north London area between Willesden and Kensal Rise where he lived. They are often with shopping and children in tow, handbags slung over shoulders, briefcases in hand, meandering arm in arm with a loved one or hurrying off to a meeting. These figures are mostly captured from the rear at speed.
