About the Piece

Rao drifts the viewer peacefully through different contexts for medicine. Below a woman's face are arrows pointing downwards simply implying perhaps that what we eat/breathe/drink has an effect on our body. The lotus, used in traditional medecine also is added symbolic of herbal remedies. Behind, the hand of Hanuman in the Mahabharata carries a mountain of herbs to the dying God, Rama.
