About the Piece

Generally-speaking we only sense ElsnerŐs Holocaust trauma indirectly in certain works that seem to have greater meaning than that is allocated to them by the title. This image appears at once a man looking at the camera restfully and yet also, due to the emotional handling, a strangely peaceful portrait of any victim or innocent person, including those caught in the Death Camps.
