In this work titled ‘Feet up’ (2015), the eponymous Fanny, the artist’s wife, again sleeps for us to view. Our objectification of the model is heightened by the visual delight of the red shoes (worn in bed with abandon) and the black and white stockings. We read these items and the spotted blouse as we do the red bed covers and sumptuous purple duvet. We stop seeing Fanny and start seeing the full beauty of the vision before us.
