It is noteworthy that Santhanarj did not title this work 'Couple' but rather 'Two Figures' even though this again is a couple in a similar embrace to other works. Perhaps it is the clear mysterious, clandestine sense to this work. One figures face is in shadow, the other, the female perhaps, made small and part-covered.
