Siva will often draw us into a dreamscape or hypnotise us by a single mesmeric, symbolic object like a mysterious pot or a levitating South Indian ceremonial palanquin. Here the content is decidedly strange: a figure neither faces us or has its back to us. What look like wings arise from the body, these in turn connected by a pipline to the heavens outside of the pictorial space. A similar vein appears to feed the other side of the body implying a cyclic process. Often Siva's work is about the creative process itself. An early work, perhaps this is an example of this.
