What is The Noble Sage?
Our Vision - Contemporary Art with a Global Perspective
The Noble Sage Art Gallery is set to be the foremost authority and stage for the highest quality contemporary paintings and sculptures from
South-East Asia. The Noble Sage aims to display and promote the work of emerging or established artistic talent from overseas and be the
leading name in the provision of such art to UK audiences.
The Noble Sage epitomises the UK art buyer's vision to find, collect and invest in choice artworks produced and inspired by countries new
to the international contemporary art scene. Utilising the gallery's strong links with India and Sri Lanka, The Noble Sage will illuminate the
talented artists that are making waves across the world the size of which are soon to hit the shores of the UK. The Noble Sage Art Gallery
is the first gallery in the UK to specialise in Indian contemporary art, particularly art from Southern India.

A Word from the Director
Merging Cultures, Emerging Art
The Noble Sage Art Gallery is for all those who have experienced new lands and cultures far from the United Kingdom; for all those who
had an epiphany of truth about not one life but about all lives on this world-planet, had that revelation and then tried in vain to ingrain it on
their souls before the airplane home. It is for all those who would have liked to have brought a glimmer of that foreign mystery and delight
home with them.
The Noble Sage provides a stepping-stone back to that moment of enlightenment - the moment that we realised that cultures are more
connected than they may seem and, in their differences, more beautiful than we could ever imagine.
The art chosen for The Noble Sage Art Gallery is the cream of contemporary sculpture and painting from South-East Asia, particularly that
of South India and Sri Lanka. The art speaks in different tongues about different lives and backgrounds and yet we can understand them
all. More than windows to another world, these artworks speak to that that is most human in all of us. Moreover, I believe they have spoken
to us before when we least expected it. They tell of the moment of mutual respect experienced by us all at one time or another. It is a
comforting, good feeling -something we need more of in the world.
