How do I
buy a work of art that is on your website?
The Noble
Sage online gallery has an excellent mix of the works in our collection. If you
would like to purchase a work, do contact the gallery on info@thenoblesage.com or by phone (00(44) 208 883 7303)
with the Product Code of the work of art in question (e.g. RAMA0033). We will
then send you a higher resolution image of the work for you to enjoy along with
its price, dimensions and other details. All prices will be stated in pounds
sterling.
How do I
get an artwork to suit my own specific requirements?
Why not
give the gallery a ring? Using information you give us (e.g. colour scheme,
character of room, theme or size of work, price range, previous work bought
etc.), we can offer you suggestions of works as well as artists that you may
not have noticed. Ring us on 0044 208 883 7303 or email us on info@thenoblesage.com.
Could
you bring a selection of works to my home so I can see a few on my wall? It
would make it easier for me to decide whether it is just rightÉ
Yes, of
course! We believe you must only buy works of art that you would enjoy keeping
in your home or workplace. Therefore, if you live in London or within easy
distance of London and would like to see a selection of works in situ at your
home or office, The Noble Sage would be happy to bring them to you. Do ring or
email the gallery to set up a time for an initial tour of the collection at the
gallery so we can spotlight those works that you would like brought to your
home.
How can
I pay?
The Noble
Sage can receive payment in person by card in the gallery (Visa, Switch, Delta,
Mastercard, Amex and American Express are all fine), by bank transfer, by card
payment over the telephone, by cheque or by Paypal. Please note that your work
will not be reserved or taken off show to clients until the payment has cleared
our account. Each of the above payment methods take different amounts of time
to clear – please bear this in mind.
Are
transport and packing charges included in the price?
Packing
charges are included in the price for most works but the delivery of works to
your door is not. The Noble Sage will be happy to find out the cost of safe
delivery and insurance to your home wherever it may be in the world.
Is the
price inclusive of VAT?
Yes, VAT
(17.5%) is included.
What is
the time frame to make payment?
Payment
must be made within one week of placing an order. Please note your work will
not be reserved or taken off show to clients until your payment has cleared our
account.
What is
the time frame for delivery?
Delivery
will take place as soon as possible, but within three weeks of receiving the
payment.
What
Proof of Authenticity will I receive on buying an artwork?
Every work
of art in The Noble Sage Collection is a genuine and authentic work of art by
the hand of a talented and often very well known artist. Ninety-nine percent of
works are purchased direct from the artists themselves but there are a small
minority that have been purchased for the collection from collectors like
yourself or from dealers or past auctions. As such, The Noble Sage will give you a Certificate of
Authentication with every artwork sold as a document that you can hold onto as
definite proof of the workÕs genuine nature and provenance. Details of previous
owners will held by The Noble Sage though can be requested by buyers at any
point.
Can I
return an artwork bought at The Noble Sage?
If an
artwork (or frame) is damaged then it can be returned to the gallery within one
week of delivery/taking the work away. Proof must be given to The Noble Sage
that the work or frame was damaged on receipt of the work. If adequate proof is
not produced, The Noble Sage will be entitled to refuse return of your
payment.
What do
I do if I want to sell works of art through or to The Noble Sage?
If you have
a work of art that you would like to sell through or to sell to The Noble Sage,
it is first worth emailing the gallery (reception@thenoblesage.com)
with the following information to help us ascertain firstly whether it is an
original work of art by the artist:
1. A good, clear
image of the work.
2. Name of
work if available, date of work if available, artist if known, medium used to
create work if known.
3. A
detailed close-up of the signature if available.
4. A
description of the workÕs provenance (when, where or from whom it was bought
and at what price).
5. Any
descriptive words on the reverse or beside the work that relates to its
authenticity.
6. Any
other details that relate to the workÕs authenticity such as a letter of
authenticity from a previous owner or gallery.
If The
Noble Sage is interested you will receive an email from the gallery requesting
to see the work in person or asking for further details. Please note that no
work is purchased without the gallery viewing the work first.
How much
commission does The Noble Sage charge if I sell a work through them?
If we
decide to sell your work through our gallery, we would charge you 35% after VAT
deduction from the sale price. If it is necessary to frame or re-frame the work
for sale, this amount will also be deducted from the sale price before our 35%
commission. Any delivery cost not recovered from the customer will be borne by
the gallery. Please note if you request us to change the sale price after it is
placed on the website and we agree to do so, our agreed commission in absolute
amount will remain the same.
You may
contact the gallery at any time to see the progress of your work on consignment
with us. Please be aware that works can take a while to sell. Six months to a
year is a good amount of time to test whether a work will sell. If a work is
unsold after six months, you may, at your discretion, review the price or take
the work back.
What if
the work I give to The Noble Sage to sell turns out to be a fake unknowingly?
The Noble
sage will make every effort to assertain the authenticity of the work before
accepting it, in order to protect its own reputation. However, if the work is
subsequently proven to be a fake then you will be responsible for all costs
including any compensation, damage and legal liabilities that the applicable
law will attract.
